TF-CBT is a highly researched cognitive behavioral treatment for children between the ages of 3 and 18 who have a trauma history and are experiencing symptoms related to trauma.
AF-CBT is a trauma treatment designed for children between the ages of 5 and 18 who have experienced physical abuse. The treatment model works with both the child and the offending caretaker.
CFTSI is designed for children who are in the acute phase (within 30 days) after a traumatic event. This treatment is designed to help prevent trauma symptoms from becoming ingrained.
PCIT is another highly researched treatment. It uses principles related to attachment and behavioral training to help children between the ages of 2.5 and 7 improve their behaviors as well as their relationship with their caregiver. The model is also effective with children who have experienced trauma.
This model is designed for children who may need to testify in a legal setting. It teaches children coping skills to help manage their anxiety around the court process.
A CBT approach is taken to help children reduce their anxiety and improve their life skills.
PE is a heavily researched treatment designed to reduce trauma symptoms in adults.
CPT is another research-based treatment option for reducing symptoms of trauma.

Forensic assessments offer a full clinical picture and serve the dual role of helping to answer a larger question for legal teams and/or the department of human services.

Clinical assessment services are also offered to adults to help clarify their psychological presentation and to aid in treatment planning and recommendations.
Of note, assessment services are offered in English as well as SPANISH.
Child psychological testing is a large part of the services offered at Alicia's Place. Children ages 3 to 17 can be assessed for psychological difficulties. Such testing helps to clarify their diagnostic picture and is helpful in accurate treatment planning and educational recommendations.
Students who are currently in graduate school, earning either their Master's degree or their Doctoral degree, can train at our site. We have supervisors for LPCs, LCSWs, and Psychologists. We offer both full time and part time positions.
For Advanced students.
Master's level trainees typically spend 6 months at the internship level, completing their degree requirements.
Doctoral level trainees are encouraged to apply to our APPIC approved year long internship. See brochure below.
Once students have completed their degree requirements they are welcome to stay on as they earn hours towards licensure. This is also a good time for students to begin to specialize in their chosen field.
